We are currently seeking a Shipper/Receiver to join our TK Truck Body team.

The successful candidate for this position will be an important and valued contributor to our Team. Our customers will depend on your ongoing commitment to their service needs, and on your skills to correctly install, maintain and repair customer equipment. You will possess strong mechanical/electrical aptitude, a positive team-focused attitude and communication skills (verbal and written), and the ability to work independently while providing consistent high-quality detailed work. 

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Service Manager, the primary functions of this position are picking, packing, shipping, and receiving product/materials for our internal and external customers as well as warehouse cleanliness. The primary goal of this position is to drive customer satisfaction by ensuring all tasks are handled in a safe, accurate, efficient, and courteous manner, within allocated timelines and to performance metric expectations.

This position is based in Edmonton, Alberta.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responding professionally and timely to internal & external customer emails and phone calls
  • Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries from couriers and delivery trucks
  • Receives, verifies, and delivers purchase orders
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment; conducts monthly cleanliness inspections
  • Problem solving for any cases of missing documents, shipments, and deliveries; track and verify shipments
  • Inspect all incoming goods against packing slips
  • Record shortages and reject damaged goods (prepare paperwork and damaged materials for return)
  • Submit and track damaged goods claims
  • Unpack and place goods in appropriate storage areas
  • Assemble containers, crates, boxes and pack goods to be shipped
  • Assists in maintaining inventory of all goods purchased and stored on the premises
  • Prepare identifying information and shipping instructions
  • Prepare waybills and record for tracking purposes
  • Assists in annual inventory counts
  • Assist parts and service departments with duties as assigned
  • General house-keeping and building maintenance

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • This position is physical in nature and requires daily use of hand-tools, standing, bending, kneeling and frequent lifting and moving of 50 lbs.
  • Certified Forklift Operator
  • Able to operate counter-balanced forklift, hand trucks, carts and trolleys
  • Walking, standing, and sitting – postures vary throughout the day
  • Understand safe storage and handling procedures for various materials
  • Good knowledge of the transportation of dangerous goods
  • Advanced organizational skills;
  • Ability to manage several deadlines concurrently.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and calm attitude.
  • Ability to read, understands, and follows safety procedures & policies.
  • Ability to problem solve and be proactive in anticipating shop needs.
  • Commitment to quality and support of process improvement.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced workplace.
  • Basic MS Office skills (Word/Excel)

 

EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Forklift Certification *Required*
